Farmer’s Markets

Creake Abbey,North Creake 1st Sat of month 9.30 to 1pm website here

Norwich Farmer’s Market is 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month in front of the “proper” market on Gentleman’s Walk.

And at Fakenham Races throughout the season as part of “The Norfolk Picnic”

See you there.

Local collection

If you live locally or are visiting Norfolk you can collect your pies from us.

We have a small but perfectly formed space which we are calling The Kitchen in a beautiful barn conversion at Bayfield Brecks - betwixt Holt and Cley. We split our time between there and Bray’s Cottage, according to the day’s needs, so, although you are very welcome to pop in on spec, it’s best to phone first if you have a specific pie purchasing mission in mind.

You can bring your own cold bag (the green option) or we can pack the pies in an insulated box.

How to find us... (don’t try and go up Garden Road from Letheringett - despite what your sat nav might say)

From Holt

Take the Cley Road which is the turn (first left on the High Street) between Morston Country Store and Barclays bank.

After about two miles you will see a big green sign on your left marked Bayfield Brecks. Take the turning by the sign and follow the lane up to the top of the hill. We are in the first courtyard - the two doors in the left hand corner.

From Cley

Take the Holt Road, which is the turning by Picnic Fayre which takes you past the Three Swallows pub and the church.

After about two miles you will see a big green sign on your right marked Bayfield Brecks. Take the turning by the sign and follow the lane up to the top of the hill. We are in the first courtyard - the two doors in the left hand corner.

About Bayfield Brecks

The flint barns are part of the estate of Bayfield Hall, which in the 19th century was home to Sir Alfred Jodrell. It’s a beautiful spot on the River Glaven and is used for film locations.

We are up on the Holt to Cromer ridge which looks down to the sea at Cley.

The oldest barn is Napoleonic. The Combe family have carefully and sensitively created a series of courtyards each with a small community of businesses, including an importer of beautiful Berber Furniture - Berber Interiors, a doll’s house maker and Yetman’s Brewery. Also there are the lovely people at UES&S, who do all sorts of clever things refurbishing high end electronic equipment. And who are fast developing a sideline in supplying our pork pies to their friends in the rest of the electronics industry!

All the heating is run from a state of the art central woodchip burner. The conversions have won one of the 2008 Norfolk CPRE awards which aim to recognise “individuals when they enhance their surroundings or 'save' a building or area of landscape otherwise at risk”.

Feels like the perfect place for us.
