Nell has two wonderful pedigree Saddleback rarebreed sows (Stella and Blanche).
And we generally have a gaggle of Saddleback offspring, frequently intent on escape and mischief.
They all get a seasonally mixed diet, for instance just recently they have been having apples, acorns (hand raked by neighbours Martin and Sally who have found that acorns don’t agree with their horses) and sugar beet - all of which they love. They also get special pig nuts to make sure that they are having all the nutrients they need.
Pigs can be more fussy than you might think. They just won’t touch pineapple for instance.
